The land of Gondal
A long long time ago, so long that neither books nor legends mention it, the peoples of Okun lived in peace among themselves in the land of Ferono.
They celebrated festivals together, sang the same songs and worshipped the same gods, who, for their part, served Okun, the one who created all things. However, a shadow obscured the country and the unity of the peoples started to fade away. The orcs, goblins and trolls devised plans to take seize power.
The humans, dwarfs and elves tried to beat them to it and it did not take very long before blood was shed in Ferono. Soon all homes and temples of the gods burned. Nobody was able to put a stop to the evil, since Okun was enraged about this sacrilege and decided to remain silent.
Bald darauf brannten die Heimstätten und Tempel der Götter aller Völker. Niemand war da, der dem Bösen Einhalt gebot, den Okun war über die Freveltaten erzürnt und schwieg.
A terrible war that seemed to have no end began. The very face of the land was distorted because of this cruel war.
After eons of bloodshed, only few people survived and the gods begged Okun to put an end to the war.
And so Okun decided to separate the peoples. Humans, dwarfs and elves would be the peoples of the day, since they had always admired the sun. Orcs, trolls and goblins would be the peoples of the Night, since they worshipped the Moon more than anybody. Okun decided to confuse the languages of the peoples of the Day and the Night, so that they could never use evil words against each other.
But Okun had not forgotten what happened and therefore decreed that peace would not reign between the peoples of the Day and the Night until a hero appeared who was strong enough to unite them and bring peace to every corner of the new country.
This land was named Gondal, which in the divine language means hope. And thus it was made known to everybody.
